The Lost Centuries

The Gefrin Trust has been fortunate in securing rights to offer, on our website, an entire programme from the series The Lost Centuries; written and presented by Brian Hope-Taylor.

The programme draws most heavily upon Brian's own major contribution to our understanding of the period.

We are grateful to ITV Broadcasting Limited, and especially to Allan Smith and Sarah Guerin, Rights Administrator, for making this possible.

Our Travelling Exhibition

In 2009, through the generosity of English Heritage,
Northumberland National Park and Northumberland County Council, the Gefrin Trust was able to mount a small travelling exhibition at museums within the region.

The exhibition celebrated the recent work that the Trust had been undertaking on such aspects of the site as aerial photography and geophysical prospection, together with many of the finds from the site that have recently been ‘rediscovered’.

Opening at the Fulling Mill Museum, Durham, in July the exhibition moved to Bede’s World, Jarrow where it remained on display for three months.

A small booklet by Sarah Semple and Roger Miket was produced to accompany the exhibition, and this is available as a free Pdf download from this site (see our Publications Page).

The exhibition, or its parts as required, is available for loan to museums and insititutions that can offer the required security, for display.
